About This Site

This website includes family tree research done by me, Ginger Boerkircher. I began my research on my maternal grandparents and their ancestors in 1977, but didn’t make any significant breakthroughs until 2005 when I discovered my great-grandfather and his daughter in the Ellis Island passenger lists.

It was a short time later that I realized I had actually seen this same record while searching through microfiche at an LDS library 15 years earlier, but I hadn’t taken the time to look one line down where I would have found the name that pulled it all together.

As you navigate through this side, be aware that the blog posts will be added on irregular time intervals — I will work on this site as I have time. The blog posts will include bits and pieces of a wide variety of information including basic information from my research experiences, tidbit of history, and more.  The pages listed along the top menu will cover the stories of different relatives beginning with my grandfather, Angelo Colosi and his first wife, Minnie.

Be aware that there are items of interest in the sidebar and the bottom footer area of the page. Each page allows the ability to comment, print, and share. There is also an RSS feed for those with readers. The feed will alert you to new posts. For those who don’t have an RSS reader, be sure to bookmark the page and visit often to see what’s new.

My name is Ginger Marie Boerkircher (maiden name Cooke). I am the daughter of Betty Lee Overmyer (maiden name Colosi). Angelo Colosi was my grandfather.
